In this webinar, you will explore
- How companies can improve their whistleblowing processes not only to meet the legal minimum, but also to enable better risk management, culture, innovation, and learning from mistakes
- Why ethical scandals usually take place and how effective whistleblowing mechanisms can help minimize the risks
- How various blind spots, such as bias, fear, loyalty, and peer pressure, keep us from speaking our minds
- How to strengthen a company’s speak-up culture by practicing better listening
- The critical role of bystanders, silence and everyday micro‑decisions in shaping a speak up culture
- Why constructive conversations, rather than speak‑up campaigns alone, are essential for ethical decision‑making
How can companies establish a speak-up culture that protects them from ethical failures?
Companies have established whistleblowing systems and processes to enable people to report ethical concerns and wrongdoing. However, in most companies, these processes do not really work. In some companies, the whistleblowing channels remain silent, and the companies lack visibility into the ethical challenges their employees are facing.
In other companies, the whistleblowing processes are used for the wrong reasons or for reporting issues that should be raised through other channels. Very few companies actually have a culture in which ethical concerns, mistakes, failures, and fears are brought to the attention of senior leaders early enough to protect the company from more serious ethical failures, and in even fewer organizations do people who speak up feel that they were truly heard.
In this webinar, we will explore how to take your whistleblowing processes to the next level. We will discuss the most common mistakes companies make when designing and implementing their whistleblowing processes and systems, and how to overcome them. You will learn what the most critical considerations are for enabling a culture in which ethical issues and concerns are raised early and in which people feel they can do so without fear of negative consequences.
