In this webinar you will learn about
- What conflict-affected and high risk areas (CAHRAs) are
- What it means that ESRS now asks companies to weigh conflict-affected and high-risk areas in their double materiality assessment — explained by an expert who helped shape the requirement at EFRAG
- How companies are working and reporting on this today, illustrated with concrete examples
Armed conflicts and geopolitical instability are no longer a distant risk for European businesses. From Ukraine to the Middle East, and unrest in other parts of the world mean that a growing number of companies have operations, suppliers, or customers connected to conflict-affected and high-risk areas — whether or not they have yet mapped that risk.
The revised ESRS now ask companies to factor this geographic dimension into their double materiality assessment — a new, still unfamiliar requirement with little practical guidance available. This webinar breaks the topic down: what is meant by an armed conflict or a high-risk area, why was this dimension added to the standards, and how have companies approached it in their reporting so far.
