This event is part of Business and Human Rights Group trainings and workshops, and only targeted for that Group. Registration to the group closed earlier in the year.
How to move forward with human rights due diligence – what follows after impact assessment
Systematic work with human rights often starts with mapping and screening human rights risks, and with conducting for instance value chain or supplier specific impact assessments. In this event we will focus on discussing the next step – what happens after this and how to address identified impacts, which might entail measures such as development of internal processes and practices, and embedding human rights risk assessment into business operations as a continuous process.
Speakers
The session includes a keynote speech by Heidi Hautala, Vice President of the European Parliament and Chair of EP Responsible Business Conduct working group.
Best practises on embedding human rights due diligence will be shared by the Enact team, Ulla Roiha and Anne Manschot.
We will also hear experiences and insights from Kajsa Persson, Director Corporate Responsibility of the Volvo Group. Kajsa joined the Volvo Group in 2012 as a Legal Counsel until she moved to the Volvo Group Corporate Responsibility team at the Headquarters in Gothenburg in 2021. Kajsa’s work focuses on Human Rights and Responsible Sales, facilitating human rights work across the value chain including governance, policy, program, due diligence, performance management and training.
Business and Human Rights Group 2023
This event is the third in the series of Business and Human Rights trainings and workshops organized by Enact Sustainable Strategies, where a group of FIBS Pro members meets four times during 2023 to discuss different aspects of integrating human rights into business and get inspiration and insights from other Finnish and international companies and organizations.
The events are targeted at companies who already have embarked on the journey of human rights and want to deepen their knowledge on these specific issues. The participants will remain the same throughout the year to build trust and commitment and enable sharing of learnings but also mistakes made in their sustainability work. The sessions will be interactive and dialogue-based and include briefs by experts from Enact Sustainable Strategies as well as key notes by companies and other experts.
