Rapid changes in technology, automation, and artificial intelligence continue to shape our societies and economies. The successful digital services of the future are based on trust and create value for everyone. On one hand, people need more transparency and control over the use of the data collected from them and the capability to distinguish between companies that use data sustainably and those who do not. On the other, in a fair data economy, trust is at the core of data sharing between different parties.
How to balance between these two dimensions?
This is where the responsible use of data comes in, as a new dimension of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). While processing data is a day-to-day task for companies, reviewing it from an ethical perspective as part of corporate responsibility is still a new practice.
Join this CSR Europe’s European SDG Summit with the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra to explore:
- The concept and criteria of fair data use
- How to integrate data use as a new dimension of CSR
The discussions will be based on the publication “Corporate Responsibility Encompasses Data” conducted by the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra.
