Almost a third of global companies interviewed in South Pole´s annual Net Zero report in 2024 said that they found it more challenging to reach their net-zero targets than anticipated. And it can be tricky, but there are solutions that can help corporations decarbonize across the entire value chain, and beyond!
Renewable energy is a key component to success when it comes to emission reduction, perhaps most known as a tool to decarbonize scope 2. But what about the rest of the business? Oftentimes, scope 3 emissions relate to more than 70% of a companies’ emissions. This means that collaboration with value chain partners is key to reducing those emissions and by engaging your partners to reduce their scope 2 through renewable energy, both you and your partners can achieve your emission reduction targets. An added benefit is that renewables can also be a good tool for your scope 1!
